A "modernizer" for tube amps in the spirit of Waza and Tube Logic
The Waza Tube Amp Expander Core follows BOSS's Tube Logic philosophy: respecting the behavior of a tube amp (attack, natural compression, dynamics, interaction with the speaker) while adding the tools expected today in home studios and on stage. This is not just a simple attenuator: it's a true control center that preserves the organic response of your head or combo amp, whether you output via Line Out or to a speaker cabinet. Note: the device supports most tube amps up to 100 W (Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and Triple Rectifier are not compatible).
Who is it for, and in what contexts?
This model is aimed at guitarists who love their tube amps but want to finally push them where they sound best without imposing unbearable volume. Ideal for home studios (clean, repeatable direct recording), stages where fast mic'ing is required, and live settings where you want to retain your amp's tone while maintaining full control over volume and dispersion.
Rock, blues, pop, metal, ambient: the Core is comfortable everywhere because it doesn't replace your amp, it enhances it. And if you play multiple projects, the 10 recallable rigs allow instant access to complete setups (cabinet, microphones, effects, levels, external loop), convenient on pedalboards, in studio racks, or in "fly rig" configurations.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Boss Waza Tube Amp Expander Core compatible with a 100 W head?
The reactive load supports most tube amps up to 100 W, with an 8-ohm input impedance. Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and Triple Rectifier models are excluded from this compatibility.
Can this device be used without a speaker cabinet for recording directly?
The balanced stereo line outputs on XLR allow the device to be connected to an audio interface or mixer without using a speaker cabinet. The 22 mic'd cabinet simulations and IRs can then be used to shape the signal.
What power does the speaker output deliver?
The built-in reactive power amp delivers 30 W into 8 ohms to a speaker, compatible with cabinets from 4 to 16 ohms.
How many IRs can be loaded into the Tube Amp Expander Core?
Up to 64 user IRs can be stored. Mono or stereo WAV files are supported up to 32-bit floating point and 96 kHz. Five microphone types are available, with the possibility to blend two choices.
Does the effects loop accept pedals and rack gear?
The external loop works in series or parallel, with selectable levels of -10 dBu or +4 dBu. This setup allows integration of pedals and rack equipment compatible with these levels.
