A Logical Extension of the M7: Multi-Unit Control in Studio Environments
The Bricasti M10 was designed to address a studio and post-production reality: when multiple M7 or M7M units are rack-mounted together, front panel control becomes less convenient. Rather than adding a network layer to configure, the M10 relies on a serial connection with daisy-chaining logic to centralize control and maintain a direct workflow. The goal is clear: to retain the M7 experience (display, navigation, control logic) while adding machine management to save time without changing established habits.
Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?
The M10 is intended for studios operating one or more Bricasti M7/M7M reverbs, as well as control rooms that need to quickly recall settings, switch between units, and maintain consistent ergonomics across the chain. It is especially suited for rack configurations located away from the listening position, installations with multiple units (e.g., reverbs dedicated to different sources), and workflows where configuration complexity should be avoided. The ability to control simultaneously from the M7 front panel or the M10, with locking, also facilitates teamwork (engineer, assistant, operator) without risk of accidental adjustments.
Connectivity, Unit Selection, and Control Comfort
Long-Distance Serial Connection, No Network Constraints
The M10 connects to the first M7 serial cable via a 9-pin R5422 connection. A 10-meter cable is included, and the setup is compatible up to 30 meters (type 480L). The approach remains deliberately simple: no practical distance limits to manage daily, and no IP address configuration. For longer distances, additional power supply may be required for the M10.
"Loop Thru" Daisy-Chaining to Add M7 Units
The principle is straightforward: connect the M10 to the first unit, then use the serial "loop thru" daisy-chain to link the second, third, and so on. This wiring method is designed to easily scale as the machine fleet grows while keeping a clear topology within a rack.
Multi-Unit Management: Dedicated Buttons, Encoder, and Direct Access
Unit selection is done via a dedicated machine button on the M10. A press toggles or steps through operations for 2 M7 units. To go further, press the machine button and use the encoder to scroll through units, convenient for controlling more than 2 units. Finally, direct access is provided: machine button + buttons 1 to 4 to instantly call any unit, and up/down buttons to change banks, extending control beyond 4 M7 units.
Preserved M7 Interface, Minimal Learning Curve
The same clear and easy-to-read display as used in the M7 is featured, with the same user interface logic. The M10 simply adds buttons related to machines and configuration: thus, it maintains continuity in usability, ideal for fast session work while keeping familiar navigation and control references.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Bricasti Design M10 compatible with multiple M7 and M7M units?
The M10 is designed to control one or several Bricasti M7 or M7M reverbs installed in the same rack. The "loop thru" daisy chaining allows successive linking of the units.
Which connection is used between the remote control and the M7 units?
The connection is made via a 9-pin R5422 serial link. A 10-meter cable is provided, with compatibility announced up to 30 meters using type 480L cable.
How to select one M7 among several units?
A Machine button allows toggling between 2 M7 units or stepping through them. For larger setups, the Machine button combined with the rotary control browses the units. Buttons 1 to 4 provide direct access, while up/down buttons change the bank.
Is it possible to control settings from both the M7 and the M10 simultaneously?
Control can be performed simultaneously from the front panel of an M7 and from the M10. A lock feature limits accidental adjustments during collaborative work.
Does the M10 require network or IP configuration?
No IP address configuration is necessary, as the M10 uses a dedicated serial link. For the longest distances, additional power supply may be required.
