A modern reverb crafted for sonic exploration

The Rooms follows the tradition of "creative" reverbs: instead of limiting itself to space simulation, it offers several processing architectures, each with its own behavior and zones of musical instability. The result: you can achieve a natural reverb to add depth, or a dense, textured, and intentionally atypical soundscape. The ALT mode plays a central role here: it transforms the Rooms into a true performance instrument, capable of switching from one sound scene to another without adjusting the basic settings.

Who is the Rooms for, and in which styles does it make a difference?

The Rooms is aimed at guitarists and musicians (guitar, bass, synth, drum machines) who want a stereo reverb that is as convincing in the mix background as it is expressive in the foreground. It is especially suited for shoegaze, post-rock, ambient, noise, indie, and electronic music, but remains very usable in rock whenever depth, dimension, and dynamic expression are sought. Live, it facilitates transitions (atmospheric intro, drier verse, soaring finale); in the studio, its Dry/FX level control helps place the effect exactly where you want it, including on a parallel send track.

Controls, modes, and the "ALT" approach

The Rooms offers a clear interface: FREQ and DEPTH control parameters that change depending on the selected algorithm, while TIME adjusts the reverb duration in all modes. The DRY / FX pair acts as a studio-quality output mixer, with an extended range from total cut to 20 times gain on each path, convenient for adapting the pedal to a pedalboard, mixer, or recording chain.

The ALT footswitch activates a second set of controls: you can switch from one "manual preset" to another (no menus), and most importantly unlock expression pedal control (optional). A side switch F to T lets you choose whether expression controls FREQ or TIME when ALT mode is engaged. This logic makes the Rooms highly performative: reverb time sweeps, resonance boosts, progressive modulation... everything becomes playable with your foot.

Regarding algorithms, each mode has its personality: ROOM covers classic spaces, DIGIT explores fractured delays and feedbacks, PEAK combines an intense bandpass with ambient reverb, GATE ranges from percussive gating to controllable freeze, WAVE adds a chorus/vibrato-style modulation dimension, and GONG takes you to ethereal, crushed textures between aliasing and ring modulation.

Sound Character

The Rooms can be subtle when keeping FX moderate and TIME reasonable, providing a sense of air and depth very useful for widening a clean tone, a lead, or an arpeggiated pattern. But its natural playground is expressive reverb: attacks highlighted by a snappy gate, reverb tails turning into a pad, resonances that "sing" in the spectrum, and modulations that bring the reverb to life. It responds particularly well to playing dynamics when you adjust the Dry/FX ratio: you can maintain the direct signal's clarity while enveloping the sound in a spectacular ambiance, or switch to a very wet sound for ambient and cinematic textures.
