A boutique fuzz designed for excess (not half-measures)

The Supersonic Fuzz Gun follows the tradition of fuzz pedals that don't seek restraint but controlled accidents. While a vintage fuzz aims for sustain and thickness, Death By Audio pushes the concept toward deliberately unstable behaviors: pronounced gating, "velcro" textures, and especially a self-oscillation usable as a sound source in its own right. In the world of modern fuzzes, it occupies the rare space of a pedal-instrument, designed for musicians who like their effect to react, struggle, and ultimately prevail.

Who is it for? Guitarists, bassists, and tinkerers who want to break the mold

This effects pedal is aimed at guitarists comfortable with sensitive settings (or those who want to become so): the Supersonic Fuzz Gun rewards exploration. Perfect for alternative rock, garage, stoner, shoegaze, post-rock, noise, industrial, and experimental music, it also excels in the studio for creating texture layers, "catastrophic" transitions, or leads that cut through the mix.

Live, it becomes a weapon of character: a simple riff can transform into a gated fuzz wall, and sustain can shift into a self-oscillating drone. It works very well on a pedalboard but also shines placed on the floor as an idea machine, controlled by foot and guitar volume.

Controls and operation: sculpt chaos with precision

The heart of the Supersonic Fuzz Gun is the interaction between its controls. Bias affects the overall behavior and "tension" of the circuit: shifting from a more stable fuzz to hungrier, more gated reactions, sometimes almost synth-like. Density thickens the fuzz input and also influences the oscillation frequency in Osc mode: it's often the key to finding the tipping point between massive grain and musical instability.

Fuzz pushes intensity and saturation, while Filter sweeps the highs from a sharp bite to a darker, doom-like mass. Finally, Level adjusts the output volume, useful to compensate for gated settings that sometimes reduce perceived level. The Gate / Oscillation switch changes the philosophy: Gate for a more controllable, chopped fuzz, Oscillation to trigger self-oscillation and generate noises, drones, and aggressive "beeps."

Sound

The Supersonic Fuzz Gun doesn't aim for transparency: it's a colored fuzz, edgy, which can become extremely compressed and gated depending on Bias and Density. Its attack can snap, crackle, collapse, then restart, and its dynamics depend as much on your playing as on the balance between controls. It can also behave as a "relatively" simple rough distortion, but its true personality emerges when pushed into its unstable zones.

In pedalboard culture, it's favored by guitarists drawn to radical textures: it's notably associated with styles ranging from shoegaze to more modern and massive atmospheres, with artists like The Edge and Kevin Shields often cited for this type of textured, out-of-the-ordinary fuzz.
