An "out-of-the-ordinary" distortion in the Gamechanger Audio universe

The Plasma Pedal follows the line of effects that don't try to imitate a classic sound but invent a new way to saturate. Here, your signal is converted into a series of high-voltage discharges inside a xenon tube, then reconverted into analog audio. The result: you're not "pushing" a traditional circuit; you're sculpting a genuine electrical phenomenon with an immediately identifiable character.

For whom, which styles, and in what contexts?

The Gamechanger Audio Plasma is designed for guitarists who want to break away from familiar saturations (rock, stoner, metal, noise, industrial), but it also shines on synths, drum machines, samples, and bass lines to add controlled aggression. In the studio, it serves as a sound design tool to thicken a track; live, it excels whenever sharp contrasts between silence and impact are sought, especially in staccato playing.

Controls and adjustment philosophy

The interface is straightforward: the Voltage control increases saturation intensity by raising the energy of the discharges, while Blend adjusts the proportion of the converted signal. At maximum Blend, the pedal passes only the sound coming from the tube: as soon as you stop playing your note, the discharge stops and the background noise disappears, like a musical and organic gate. This approach encourages "by feel" settings: you adapt the attack's aggressiveness to your pick, right-hand dynamics, and pickup output level.

Sound

Expect a fast, heavy, and highly textured distortion with sharp harmonics and an immediate biting sensation. The Plasma emphasizes non-linear harmonic saturations, resulting in rich attacks and sometimes abrasive grain, perfect for making a riff stand out in a dense mix. Its wide spectrum also provides an unusual presence, useful for "exploding" a guitar, electronic, or synth sound without just adding a simple gain boost.
