A classic DPA model adapted into a compact version for stage and set constraints

The DPA 4011C follows the DPA philosophy: offering high-end, faithful, and immediately usable capture in a microphone that knows how to stay out of the way. This compact version of the 4011 series emphasizes discretion and ease of integration while maintaining top-tier performance for professional applications. Where a studio condenser microphone might be too visible or bulky, the 4011C provides a more "invisible" alternative without compromising clarity.

Who is it for and what are the uses? A versatile microphone for close-miking and demanding contexts

The 4011C is a relevant choice if you work in film, television, theater, places of worship, or studio and are looking for a cardioid microphone capable of remaining discreet while delivering detailed capture. In close-miking, its directivity helps reduce crosstalk from other instruments, which facilitates mixing, especially in orchestra or stage situations with many simultaneous sources.

On a set, it is also comfortable for off-camera voices or ambiences and sound effects when microphone visibility must be minimal. In sound reinforcement, it stands out with a natural rendering and controlled presence, useful for maintaining intelligibility without harshening the high frequencies.

Design and performance: precision, SPL handling, and easy integration

Cardioid directivity: more focus, less bleed

The cardioid directivity of the DPA 4011C allows focusing the capture on the targeted source while attenuating some sounds coming from the rear. This is a concrete advantage in close-miking (strings, winds, percussion, amps, vocals) and in all configurations where better track separation and limiting microphone bleed are desired.

Dual condenser capsule: definition and coherence

Thanks to its dual condenser capsule design, the 4011C aims for fine transient reproduction and precise nuance reading. The result: a clean sound image, readable lows, and detailed highs, useful for preserving the realism of an acoustic instrument or the texture of a voice without artificial effects.

Very high SPL handling: a microphone comfortable with powerful sources

The 4011C can handle very high sound pressure levels, making it a reliable tool for sources that "hit hard": percussion, brass, very close instruments, or stage environments where levels rise quickly. This safety margin results in more confident capture and a cleaner signal, with less risk of saturation during peaks.

Visual discretion and field integration

Its matte black finish is a real asset for on-camera capture: the microphone attracts less attention and blends more easily into a set, a cluster of microphones, or a stage setup. The XLR connectivity and 48 V phantom power ensure simple integration with most microphone preamps, consoles, and professional audio interfaces.
