An Analog "Zero Watt" Amplifier That Emulates a Real Amp
The SIMPLIFIER X was designed as a "zero watt" amplifier: no power to push, but a complete, fully analog signal chain conceived to reproduce the feel of a guitar amp in a pedalboard format. The idea is simple: to regain the response, attack, and organic feel of an amp + cabinet setup while benefiting from modern integration (DI, headphones, FX loops, stereo) adapted to current rigs, from home studios to tours.

This model targets guitarists who want to travel light without sacrificing the "feel": cover musicians who need to switch between several amp colors, pedalboard enthusiasts, or studio guitarists seeking a reliable and repeatable direct sound. Thanks to its two independent channels and operating modes, it covers a wide range from clean to high gain, making it suitable for pop, funk, blues, rock, modern metal, as well as ambient textures with stereo reverb. Live, it integrates naturally into a mixing console via DI, and for silent rehearsals, the headphone amp and auxiliary input make it a very practical tool.

Can the DSM & Humboldt Simplifier X be connected directly to a mixing console?
Two balanced DI outputs, one dedicated to channel A and one to channel B, allow connection to a console. A ground lift is present to reduce hum.
Is it possible to use two distinct amp sounds on this preamp?
Channels A and B are completely independent, with separate selection of preamp, power amp type, and speaker cabinet type for each. The Drive, Presence, and Resonance controls are also separate per channel. This makes it possible, for example, to combine a clean tone and a distorted tone.
What power supply is needed for the Simplifier X?
The required power supply is 9 to 12 V DC regulated, via a 2.1 mm jack connector with center negative polarity. The current consumption is 200 mA and a power supply of at least 250 mA is recommended.
Does the Simplifier X accept external effects pedals?
A dual FX loop A and B on 6.35 mm jacks includes two sends and two returns. The Mono Loop switch allows using a mono effect on both returns.
Can headphones be used with this guitar preamp?
The headphone output delivers 135 mW into 32 ohms and includes an auxiliary input for silent monitoring.
