A new evolution of a delay that has become a reference

The Memory Man family is among the classic analog delays: an immediately recognizable signature, both smooth, spacious, and lively. This "Tap Tempo" version modernizes the original spirit with synchronization and advanced control features, while preserving the analog DNA that made the series famous: repeats that naturally blend into the playing, with that slight movement and typical musical grain.

For which guitarists and styles?

This pedal is aimed at guitarists (and instrumentalists) who want a premium analog delay capable of covering both "utility" needs (slapback, subtle echo, solos) and more atmospheric approaches. It excels in blues, rock, indie, ambient, post-rock, worship, and all contexts where the tempo must remain locked.

On a stage pedalboard, the Tap Tempo and subdivisions avoid rough adjustments between songs. In studio, the effects loop and modulation open sound design possibilities (filtered repeats, modulated delays, tails processed by other effects) while keeping a clean direct signal intact.

Controls, modes, and connectivity: a true musical expression pedal

The Deluxe Memory Man with Tap Tempo combines full delay settings and an inspiring modulation section. You'll find essential controls to shape your echo (time, repeat level, feedback amount), as well as a Rate /Depth modulation to go from a subtle chorus to more pronounced oscillations. The Tap Tempo is complemented by five subdivisions to adapt the rhythmic feel (ideal for dotted eighth notes, triplets, etc.).

The big plus for the stage: the expression pedal input allows real-time control of a parameter on the fly (for example, increasing the delay amount, opening feedback for controlled swells, or evolving the modulation). The pedal also offers a dedicated effects loop for the "wet" signal (repeats), handy for inserting a reverb, additional modulation, or a filter only on the echoes.

The sound

Expect a generous analog texture: round repeats, slight natural compression, and that very "musical" way of settling behind the sound without overpowering it. The pedal responds well to right-hand attack: the harder you play, the more character comes out, and repeats remain coherent even when pushing the feedback. The built-in modulation brings movement ranging from silky chorus to more pronounced vibrato, perfect to thicken a clean tone or give a "cassette"/organic dimension to an ambient delay.

In terms of inspirations, this type of pedal is found on pedalboards oriented towards rock and ambient, with guitarists known for exploiting expressive analog delays (for example Vince Gill, Ben McLeod, Andy Othling).
