A Cult EHX Reverb, Modernized for Today's Pedalboards

The Neo Holy Grail captures the spirit of the Holy Grail, a pedal that became a classic for quickly achieving credible ambiances without complicated settings. Electro-Harmonix offers here a compact and contemporary version of its digital reverb, designed to easily integrate into a modern guitar chain.
Its trio of algorithms covers the essential sought-after textures: the Spring evokes the spring reverbs built into many amps, the Hall simulates the depth of large spaces (like concert halls or very reverberant venues), and the Plate is inspired by the iconic plate reverbs of high-end studios from the 1960s and 1970s, renowned for their dense and silky sound.

For Whom, Which Styles, and In What Contexts?

The EHX Neo Holy Grail is aimed both at guitarists who want a simple and musical reverb and musicians looking for a "plug and play" pedal to complete a pedalboard. Its straightforward approach is very suitable for beginners (you quickly find a good setting), while remaining sufficiently high-quality for advanced studio or live use.
In terms of styles, it naturally covers blues and rock (Spring for the amp vibe, Hall to widen a solo), but it is also relevant for indie, pop, country, post-rock, and light ambient. The Plate, smoother and more balanced, is particularly interesting when you want a present reverb without overwhelming the mids, and can also deliver excellent results on sources like a mono keyboard or vocals through an appropriate chain.
In practice, it's an effective pedal for: adding subtle depth in rhythm parts, thickening a lead without making it muddy, or creating a more "studio" space without multiplying settings. Thanks to its True Bypass, it easily fits at the end of the chain (after overdrive/distortion) or in an effects loop depending on your amp and how you build your sound.
