Essential Information About the Klowra Limbo Reverb Pedal (KBS-01)

  • 9 "studio grade" reverb algorithms: from natural ambiances to modern ambient textures, in stereo.

  • Freeze & Infinite: freeze a reverb tail and make it last indefinitely to create pads, drones, and surreal atmospheres.

  • Ramp Function: smooth transition between two settings for fluid and evolving movements (ideal for post-rock, shoegaze, ambient).

  • Analog dry path + selectable bypass: True Bypass (no trails) or Buffered (trails enabled) and analog Dry Through.

A compact reverb designed as a modern "workstation"

The Limbo Reverb incorporates the main families of reverbs that have shaped guitar history (Room, Hall, Plate, Spring) and propels them into a contemporary sound design-oriented approach, with more atmospheric and textured algorithms. Positioned as a versatile pedalboard-format reverb, it combines immediate access to classic sounds with a true creative dimension thanks to the Freeze/Infinite and Ramp functions, typical of modern setups.

For which musicians and styles?

The Klowra Limbo is aimed both at guitarists who want a primary reverb that is simple to dial in and at musicians seeking an inspiring pedal to sculpt space. It excels in blues/rock to broaden an amp sound, in indie and pop to place the guitar "in the mix," and especially in ambient, post-rock, shoegaze, or worship to layer sounds with Freeze/Infinite.

In the studio, its stereo output and analog Dry Through help maintain a clean and precise attack. Live, the True/Buffered Bypass choice and trails allow switching from tight rhythmic playing to very cinematic transitions without cutting the reverb tail.

Controls, modes, and creative functions

The Limbo Reverb offers a clear interface with dedicated controls to adjust decay time, brightness, mix, and space size, as well as a texture control that evolves the grain and density of the reverb depending on the algorithm. A selector lets you choose among 9 reverb types, for quick shifts from realistic ambiance to more dreamlike spaces.

The Freeze & Infinite function maintains the reverb without decay: perfect for freezing a chord, breathing life into a silence, or building a sound bed under a lead. The Ramp function creates a gradual variation between settings, like a "manual" automation: ideal for bringing a reverb pad to life, increasing intensity, or transforming the ambiance from verse to chorus.

Regarding integration, the expression pedal input opens continuous controls (for example mix, size, or texture), very useful for real-time ambient swells. The USB-C port allows firmware updates, convenient for evolving the pedal over time.

The sound

The Limbo Reverb stands out with a wide stereo image and a sense of depth that remains clear even on generous settings. The analog Dry Through helps preserve the punch and definition of attacks, while the "wet" part adds color and space. Depending on the chosen algorithm, it ranges from a fairly transparent and natural reverb (perfect for always-on use) to denser, more "hazy" or shimmering textures, tailored for walls of sound and cinematic atmospheres.

The dynamics respond well to playing variations: with delicate picking, the reverb dresses the sound without drowning it; with powerful chords, it can become a true instrument in its own right, especially with Freeze/Infinite and Ramp to evolve the sonic material.
