A Hammond Designed for Mobile Keyboardists Without Losing the Brand's DNA

The Hammond M-Solo follows in the lineage of instruments that shaped keyboard history, with a simple idea: preserve the character and "organ" ergonomics while adopting a lightweight, easy-to-transport, and quick-to-set-up format. Its "what you see is what you get" approach avoids endless menus: you grab a drawbar, adjust a knob, and the sound reacts immediately. The result: a performance-oriented keyboard, perfect for musicians switching between vintage textures, seventies-inspired pads, and more modern colors, without sacrificing the spontaneity of playing.

Keyboard Design

The M-Solo is based on a 49-key velocity-sensitive keyboard designed to remain expressive even in a compact chassis. The "Virtual Multi-Contact" technology aims to reproduce the behavior of multiple contacts found in classic organs: the attack gains precision, the playing becomes more lively, and fast phrasing retains true clarity. The experience is enhanced by 9 multifunction drawbars, essential for sculpting the harmonic content of an organ sound in real time, as well as by an expression pedal input to manage volume and intensity with the finesse expected on stage.

Sound Quality

The sound engine combines B-3 tonewheel organ emulation, transistor organs, and an "ensemble/synth" section to cover a wide repertoire, from rock to jazz, pop to retro atmospheres. The B-3 emulation emphasizes character, presence, and grain, while the three transistor models "Vx", "Farf", and "Ace" add sharper, more distinctive timbres, perfect for riffs and accompaniments that need to cut through a mix. To broaden the palette, the M-Solo includes a "strings machine" and a 70's style vocal ensemble, ideal for thickening an intro, enriching a chorus, or building cinematic pads. Finally, the polyphonic bi-oscillator synthesizer (with 4 waveforms, envelope, pulse width modulation, 4-pole filter) provides expressive leads and pads with a color directly usable live. The digital Leslie simulation completes the illusion by adding movement, depth, and dynamics, with slow and fast speeds.
