A Hammond Designed for Mobile Keyboardists Without Losing the Brand's DNA
The Hammond M-Solo follows in the lineage of instruments that shaped keyboard history, with a simple idea: preserve the character and "organ" ergonomics while adopting a lightweight, easy-to-transport, and quick-to-set-up format. Its "what you see is what you get" approach avoids endless menus: you grab a drawbar, adjust a knob, and the sound reacts immediately. The result: a performance-oriented keyboard, perfect for musicians switching between vintage textures, seventies-inspired pads, and more modern colors, without sacrificing the spontaneity of playing.
Keyboard Design
The M-Solo is based on a 49-key velocity-sensitive keyboard designed to remain expressive even in a compact chassis. The "Virtual Multi-Contact" technology aims to reproduce the behavior of multiple contacts found in classic organs: the attack gains precision, the playing becomes more lively, and fast phrasing retains true clarity. The experience is enhanced by 9 multifunction drawbars, essential for sculpting the harmonic content of an organ sound in real time, as well as by an expression pedal input to manage volume and intensity with the finesse expected on stage.
Sound Quality
The sound engine combines B-3 tonewheel organ emulation, transistor organs, and an "ensemble/synth" section to cover a wide repertoire, from rock to jazz, pop to retro atmospheres. The B-3 emulation emphasizes character, presence, and grain, while the three transistor models "Vx", "Farf", and "Ace" add sharper, more distinctive timbres, perfect for riffs and accompaniments that need to cut through a mix. To broaden the palette, the M-Solo includes a "strings machine" and a 70's style vocal ensemble, ideal for thickening an intro, enriching a chorus, or building cinematic pads. Finally, the polyphonic bi-oscillator synthesizer (with 4 waveforms, envelope, pulse width modulation, 4-pole filter) provides expressive leads and pads with a color directly usable live. The digital Leslie simulation completes the illusion by adding movement, depth, and dynamics, with slow and fast speeds.

Questions frequently asked
What organ sounds are available on the Hammond M-Solo?
The organ section includes a B-3 tonewheel emulation and three transistor models: “Vx,” “Farf,” and “Ace.” Nine multifunction drawbars allow real-time harmonic adjustment. A digital Leslie simulation, with slow and fast speeds, complements these sounds.
Does the M-Solo have synth and pad sounds?
A strings machine and a 70s-inspired vocal ensemble are built-in to create pads. The bi-oscillator polyphonic synthesizer offers 4 waveforms, a 4-pole filter, and pulse width modulation.
What MIDI connectivity does the Hammond M-Solo provide?
It features MIDI In/Out 5-pin DIN ports and a USB MIDI connection to control expansion modules or virtual instruments.
Can an expression pedal be used and can the Leslie be controlled?
A dedicated input accepts an expression pedal to control volume and playing intensity. A “Leslie Fast” jack allows controlling the Leslie simulation speed. A sustain pedal input is also listed in the specifications.
Is the M-Solo easy to transport on stage?
Measuring 731 × 274 × 85 mm and weighing 3.6 kg, this model has a compact format. No built-in speakers: a 6.5 mm headphone output and a Leslie output are provided.
