A Major Evolution in the Cantorum VI Line
The Cantorum VI Plus retains everything that made the original Cantorum VI successful: a compact, lightweight, accessible instrument that is instantly musical. This new version goes significantly further, however, with an upgraded audio engine, an enhanced sound palette and much more generous memory management. For the organist, the result is tangible: more sonic substance, greater nuance and more convincing overall behaviour from the very first notes.
Within the range, the Cantorum VI Plus stands out as a particularly relevant portable digital organ for practice, rehearsals, liturgy, choral accompaniment or performances in spaces where mobility matters. It retains a reasonable footprint while benefiting from elements inherited from more ambitious libraries, particularly for the organ voices selected from the Chorum line.
Keyboard Design
The Cantorum VI Plus is equipped with a 61-key "Tracker Action" keyboard, designed to offer a clear, precise and natural response in the spirit of organ playing. This type of touch encourages articulation, phrasing clarity and finger control, making it a suitable choice for both the classical repertoire and accompaniment. Velocity sensitivity is available for the MIDI and Orchestra sections, allowing for more expressive playing when using orchestral sounds.
Its "Tilt Tabs" rocker-switch interface further enhances playing ergonomics. Stop selection remains quick and visual, with a familiar approach for musicians coming from the liturgical organ tradition. The Layer function applied to MANUAL I and MANUAL II also makes it possible to expand registrations and create denser combinations without making operation more complicated.
Sound Quality
ARTEM technology lies at the heart of the Cantorum VI Plus, with sampling memory increased from 16 MB to 42 MB, the sampling rate raised from 32 kHz to 46 kHz and polyphony increased to 192 notes. This progress translates into more stable, detailed and comfortable reproduction in full chords, sustained notes and complex registrations.
The organ section now offers 84 voices, divided across 4 distinct styles, each with 21 dedicated stops. This is not simply a quantitative addition: the instrument also gains in stylistic coherence, with each sonic world benefiting from its own identity. The new voices were selected from the high-precision Chorum library, reinforcing the credibility of the sounds and the sense of depth.
The orchestral sounds increase from 9 to 14, with the addition of clarinet, oboe, trumpet, flute and pan flute. The piano, harp and bell sounds have been completely renewed, making the instrument more versatile for introductions, accompaniment or certain ceremonial repertoires. The internal amplification, handled by 2 speakers for a total power output of 50 W at 2 x 25 W, ensures effective standalone sound distribution in many situations.
Built-in Effects
- New reverb that is more precise and natural to the ear.
- Built-in digital equalisation to compensate for irregularities in the electroacoustic system.
- 7 temperaments available to adapt the instrument to the repertoire and performance context.
Educational Functions
The Cantorum VI Plus takes a practical approach to the repertoire thanks to an internal library of 61 classical pieces, several of which are adapted for wedding ceremonies. This built-in collection makes it possible to practise, demonstrate or quickly prepare a programme without relying on external equipment. Additional banks of 61 pieces can also be loaded from a USB flash drive, making it easy to rotate content according to the musician's needs.
Memory management also supports learning and preparation. The user can save 6 memory banks internally and 6 more on USB media, with each bank containing 12 memories. For both students and experienced organists, this organisation is invaluable for memorising registrations, comparing stop combinations or preparing several services and programmes in a format that is easy to recall.
Advanced Functions
- USB Host port for loading and saving songs, memories and firmware updates.
- USB Device port with USB MIDI 1 input / 1 output for connection to a computer.
- Layer function on MANUAL I and MANUAL II to enrich sound combinations.
- Extended registration storage with 6 internal banks and 6 external banks on a USB flash drive.
- 6 new built-in demonstration songs.
