BTB: Ibanez's Vision of a Modern and Expressive Bass
The BTB606 follows the line of Ibanez basses aimed at the "modern player": refined ergonomics, extended range, and craftsmanship designed for clarity. With its 6 strings and long scale length, it targets contemporary playing where articulation, dynamics, and intonation remain controlled, even with demanding tunings.
For Which Bassists and Styles?
Thanks to its 6-string format, the BTB606 is mainly intended for intermediate to advanced bassists seeking a wider range (deep lows and singing highs) without sacrificing clarity. It excels in modern metal, progressive, fusion, gospel, contemporary funk, and all situations alternating tight lines, chords, clean slap, and solo passages.
Sound
The combination of okoumé wings and a 5-piece maple/jatoba neck-through promotes a fast response, strong projection, and long sustain, with tight lows and precise attacks. The rosewood fingerboard provides a rounder feel and a pleasant balance in the mids, useful for maintaining body without losing definition.
On the electronics side, the A1 passive pickups focus on clarity and openness, with present lows and well-defined mids. The 3-band equalizer combined with the 3-way mid-frequency switch allows switching from a modern "hi-fi" sound to a more pronounced grain in the mix, while keeping a clear and articulated foundation.
