The EHB605 targets the intermediate to advanced bassist seeking a comfortable, precise instrument ready to cover various registers. Its balance and access to highs (rear contour behind the lower horn) make it an excellent partner for fusion, modern metal, pop, funk, and any music where the bass must remain clear in a dense mix. Comfortable both seated and standing, it promotes a natural playing position thanks to the angled back, rounded edges, and contoured body.

Sound

The okoumé body provides a clear and solid foundation, with a fast response and great definition, particularly useful on a 5-string. The pair of Ibanez alpha 1 pickups emphasize clarity, with generous lows and present mids, typical of modern bass tones. The Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band active EQ allows precise shaping of the foundation and attack: ideal for switching from a full, round sound to a more biting register, or for highlighting the B string. Additionally, the EQ bypass offers a more direct alternative in passive mode, handy for securing a set or instantly changing character.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To stay within original specifications, opt for a set of 5-string long scale 34" / 864 mm strings with gauges .045/.065/.085/.105/.130 (for example, an equivalent to the factory-installed set). Also, remember to have a spare 9V battery for the active electronics.
