Part of the Concert Artist line, the CA401 condenses Kawai's expertise into an elegant and compact cabinet. It brings the touch of a grand piano to homes thanks to a wooden action inherited from 90 years of acoustic piano craftsmanship, and a modern tone reproduction faithful to grand concert pianos. Offered in refined finishes (White, Black, or Satin Rosewood), it naturally fits into any interior and supports the pianist's development from the first lesson to expressive repertoires.

Keyboard Design

With its Grand Feel Compact action featuring solid wood keys coated with Ivory Touch, the CA401 offers extended leverage, realistic weight distribution, and consistent response across the entire length. The weighted hammers, bass counterweights, and escapement simulation recreate the resistance of a grand piano. The 3-sensor detection and adjustable velocity curves ensure fine nuances, controlled pianissimos, and flawless trills.

Sound Quality

The Progressive Harmonic Imaging engine performs full 88-note sampling of the concert grands "SK-EX Competition Grand" and "Kawai EX" for 19 detailed tones and a 192-note polyphony. The Virtual Technician allows fine-tuning of voicing, resonances, half-pedal, and advanced parameters. The new audio stage, combined with the 4 speakers and 2 x 20 W amplification, delivers a clear, spacious, and dynamic sound image at both low and high volumes.

Built-in Effects

Integrated settings with reverberations (Room, Lounge, Small Hall, Concert Hall, Live Hall, Cathedral), preset effects for shaping, and Tone Control / brightness to adapt the timbre to the environment and repertoire.
