A Capsule Inherited from the LCT Series: Studio DNA in a Stage Microphone

The Lewitt MTP 940 CM is designed for artists who want to experience on stage the precision, authenticity, and definition usually associated with studio microphones. Its large 25 mm dual-diaphragm capsule, derived from the LCT studio range, is the heart of the microphone: it aims for a vocal sound rich in detail, with a faithful response that highlights interpretive nuances.

This "studio" lineage is not limited to sound. The design approach is focused on live performance: reducing handling noise issues around the capsule (common sources of feedback and response curve variations) and controlling plosives to maintain a stable and usable vocal sound in real stage conditions.

Intended Use and Target Musicians

The MTP 940 CM is primarily aimed at demanding singers, touring artists, technicians, and venues seeking a vocal microphone capable of delivering a refined and articulate sound without sacrificing reliability in concert. It is particularly suitable for styles where the voice must remain intelligible and expressive in the mix (pop, rock, chanson, variety, soul, jazz, etc.), even when vocal dynamics are significant.

Thanks to its adjustable settings (polar patterns, attenuations, and high-pass filter), it adapts well to both loud stages and more controlled environments, allowing the microphone's behavior to be tailored to the artist's placement, monitor setup, and projection.

Settings and Design: Precision, Control, and Stability in Live Use

A Polar Pattern Suited to Your Stage

The MTP 940 CM offers three polar patterns (cardioid, supercardioid, wide cardioid) to adjust pickup according to the stage configuration. Depending on the choice, you can prioritize enhanced isolation of surrounding sources or a more open and natural capture, while keeping the voice present and well-defined.

Attenuations and Wide Headroom

To handle powerful vocals and high SPL situations, the microphone provides several attenuation levels. Combined with a high maximum SPL pressure, these settings help maintain a clean signal without harshness or distortion, even when the artist "pushes" and the stage is energetic.

High-Pass Filter for Cleaner Low End

The high-pass filter helps better control vibrations, stage noise, and proximity effect. Depending on the timbre and distance to the microphone, you can maintain a linear response or reduce low frequencies to improve clarity and stability in the mix, especially with close monitors.

Switchable LED Indicators and Internal Shock Mount

The settings are accompanied by switchable LED indicators, a practical advantage on stage (visibility for the technical team, discretion for the artist). Finally, the exceptional internal suspension enhances handling stability: fewer unwanted noises and a more consistent vocal sound, even during highly mobile performances.
