An M 294 Designed for Modern Recording Techniques

Designed for universal professional applications in both studio and live sound, the M 294 relies on a new transformerless output circuit. This architecture highlights the qualities of the capsules (type M 70 and M 94) by offering a particularly high-performance output stage and very stable behavior, preserving the definition and openness that characterize this microphone.

Who Is This Cardioid Microphone For?

With its cardioid directivity and maximum sensitivity on axis, the M 294 is a natural choice for recordings that require precision and isolation: vocals, acoustic instruments, overheads, supplementary takes, or sources to be featured in a mix. Its bright balance helps improve intelligibility without overloading the equalization, while remaining compatible with both transparent and colored preamps.

Key Features to Save Time During Recording

Ultra-thin metal capsule: attack, air, and presence

The two pressure-gradient condenser capsules incorporate a nickel diaphragm with a thickness less than 1 micrometer. The frequency response includes a boost of about 5 dB at 8 kHz, providing spectacular clarity and a very readable high end, useful for opening up a vocal or detailing strings and percussion.

Control of bass and levels: clean, even close and loud

The -10 dB pad secures recordings in the presence of high levels, while the low-cut filter reduces excess bass and helps attenuate the proximity effect. For close-miking, using a pop shield and activating the low-cut filter is recommended; a windscreen can also enhance realism on certain sources.

Mounting and integration

The M 294 accepts numerous mounting accessories to multiply installation methods. Connection is made via a standard 3-pin XLR socket, with 48 V phantom power supply. It is available in satin nickel or matte black finish.
