Designed as a professional stage piano, the Nord Stage 4 88 continues the legacy of Nord keyboards focused on performance: immediate ergonomics, perfect on-stage visibility, and instant musical response. At the top of the Stage range, it targets pianists, keyboardists, and producers who alternate piano sounds, organs, and synth textures within the same set, with real-time control logic and fast transitions. Here, there are no built-in speakers: the goal is a clean signal and seamless integration into a PA system, stage monitor, or studio.

Keyboard Design

The Nord Stage 4 88 features an 88-note (A-C) fully weighted keyboard with Triple Sensor technology, designed for precise repetition and fine dynamic control, even on delicate nuances. The aftertouch adds an essential expressive dimension live to trigger modulations, evolve morphing, or thicken a sound without releasing the keys. Velocity sensitivity promotes natural playing, from nuanced pianissimo to strong attacks, while remaining comfortable on more modern parts (pads, leads, basses) when using the Synth engine layers.

Sound Quality

The Piano section relies on Nord libraries and offers grand pianos, uprights, and electric pianos, enhanced by Dynamic Compression and a Unison mode to thicken the timbre and widen the stereo image. The Synth section uses the Nord Wave 2 engine (VA, samples, FM, wavetables) with three independent layers and optimized samples (Tru-Vibrato, Unison, Round Robin) for more lively and credible textures. The Organ section models classic organs (B3, Vox, Farfisa, and pipe organs), with B3 Bass and a rotary 122 simulator including Normal/Close mic positions. The extended polyphony (depending on section) and conversion quality ensure a stable, precise, and musical rendering, both in studio and on stage.
