The New Generation MONICON L, Designed for Modern Studios
The Palmer MONICON L G2 G builds on the principle behind the success of the MONICON range: providing intuitive, reliable and precise monitoring control without complicating the signal path. This generation modernizes the approach with more versatile connectivity, able to accommodate a studio audio interface, an auxiliary source or a mobile device via Bluetooth.
Compact and robust, this monitoring controller naturally fits between your audio interface and studio monitors. It allows you to centralize levels, compare several monitoring systems and respond quickly to the needs of a recording, mixing or music production session.
A Monitoring Controller for Home Studios, Mixing and Post-Production
The MONICON L G2 G is aimed at producers, sound engineers, beatmakers, musicians and content creators who want to remain in control of their monitoring environment. It is particularly well suited to setups using several pairs of speakers: main monitors, nearfield monitors or a system dedicated to checking low frequencies.
Thanks to its three stereo inputs, it is easy to switch between an audio interface, an auxiliary player and a Bluetooth device. You can therefore compare a production with a musical reference, listen to a demo from a smartphone or check a mix from different sources without changing your cabling.
Its large analog potentiometer provides smooth and precise volume adjustment. This direct control makes everyday work more comfortable, while avoiding reliance solely on the audio interface or computer's output level.
Control Functions Designed to Help You Work Faster
Two Stereo Outputs and One Mono Output for Versatile Monitoring
The Palmer MONICON L G2 G features two stereo outputs for connecting two separate monitoring systems. For example, you can switch between your main speakers and a second, more compact pair of monitors to check the balance of your mix across different monitoring formats.
The balanced mono output provides additional flexibility for integrating a subwoofer, mono monitoring for checking purposes or specific equipment in your setup. Dedicated selectors, accompanied by LED indicators, make it easy to identify the active sources and outputs.
Mono, Dim and Mute: Essential Mixing Functions
The Mono function makes it easy to check mono compatibility and the balance between the central elements of a mix. It is especially useful for identifying phase issues, checking the intelligibility of vocals or snare drums, and assessing the overall solidity of the stereo image.
The Dim function quickly reduces the monitoring level without changing your main volume setting, making it practical for communicating in the control room or giving your ears a rest during long sessions. The Mute function instantly cuts the monitoring outputs, which is useful when connecting a device, taking a break or preventing accidental playback.
An Independent Headphone Output with PFL Pre-Listen
The headphone output on a stereo jack features its own volume control. It allows the user to work on headphones without depending on the speaker level. Its PFL function enables isolated pre-listening to input signals without affecting the main mix sent to the monitors.
This architecture is particularly practical for preparing a source, checking a signal before playback or discreetly listening to a reference. The integrated power supply handles the Bluetooth receiver, headphone amplifier and third output, while the audio signal path remains analog to preserve a responsive and natural listening experience.
