PRS Silver Sky Defender Willow Green LTD

A Silver Sky Inspired by the Defender World

This PRS Silver Sky Defender Édition Limitée combines John Mayer’s world with the iconic visual identity of vintage Defenders. Its Willow Green finishing is part of a palette of four shades inspired by the musician’s personal Defender, alongside Arles Blue, Portofino Red and Sandglow Yellow. The color extends beyond the body: the matching headstock further reinforces the distinctive character of this series, designed equally for demanding musicians and collectors.

Limited to 500 guitars per color, this edition retains the DNA of the original Silver Sky: a solidbody electric guitar developed by PRS and John Mayer to recreate the dynamics, comfort and tonal nuances of vintage instruments, while benefiting from PRS manufacturing precision. The neck plate engraved with the color name and the “1 of 500” designation highlights the exclusive nature of each example.

An Expressive Signature Guitar for Players Who Appreciate Nuanced Playing

The Silver Sky Defender Willow Green is aimed at intermediate, advanced and professional guitarists looking for an electric guitar that is precise, comfortable and highly responsive to variations in attack. Its bolt-on neck with a 635JM-R profile and vintage 7.25" / 184 mm radius encourage an organic playing feel, particularly enjoyable for chords, soul, pop or funk rhythm parts, and expressive blues lines.

Thanks to its three single-coil pickups and 5-way selector, it naturally adapts to blues, classic rock, pop, funk, R&B and fusion styles. It will appeal to musicians who like to control their attack with a pick or their fingers, work with the guitar’s volume control and achieve lively sounds without sacrificing note-by-note definition.

The Clear, Dynamic Voice of Three 635JM Single-Coil Pickups

The alder body provides a balanced foundation, with tight lows, present mids and precise highs. This tonewood, traditionally appreciated on guitars with single-coil pickups, supports an articulate and versatile sound that remains clear in a mix. The bolt-on maple neck contributes to the instrument’s crisp attack and overall responsiveness, while the rosewood key slightly softens the response to preserve rich harmonic depth.

The three 635JM single-coil pickups are designed to deliver an inspired vintage character, with enough clarity for clean sounds and sufficient dynamics to respond to playing nuances. The selector’s in-between positions produce scooped, bright and percussive tones, ideal for funk chanks or arpeggios. The one-volume, two-tone control layout allows you to fine-tune the brightness and adapt the guitar to a clean, crunchy or overdriven amplifier.

The PRS steel tremolo completes this tonal personality by providing a smooth feel under the hand and the ability to add pitch inflections, subtle vibrato or more pronounced effects. Combined with vintage-style locking tuners and a bone nut, it promotes reliable tuning stability during musical use of the tremolo.
