Today's Audio over IP: Dante and AES67 at the Heart of Modern Installations
With the rise of audio-over-IP networks in theaters, houses of worship, auditoriums, and AV integration, Dante has established itself as a flexible audio transport solution, while the AES67 standard facilitates interoperability between devices. The DAN-RX2 fits into this logic: it bridges the digital network and the analog world by offering a reliable output that is easy to deploy and designed for field constraints (network cabling, ground management, local monitoring).
Who is the DAN-RX2 For and What Are Its Use Cases?
The DAN-RX2 is designed for sound engineers, integrators, and operators who need to cleanly output an analog audio signal from a Dante or AES67 network without complicating the system. It is particularly suitable for powering a pair of active speakers, a power amplifier, an analog console, a broadcast processor, or a monitor zone (lobby, dressing rooms, delay). Its built-in headphone amplifier facilitates quick audio stream monitoring directly at the output point, convenient for both installation and daily operation.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Radial DAN-RX2 compatible with Dante and AES67?
The interface receives Dante and AES67 audio streams via its EtherCon port. The conversion to analog is carried out in 24-bit / 96 kHz on 2 channels.
What analog outputs are available?
Two balanced XLR outputs allow connection to active speakers, an amplifier, or an analog console. A ground lift switch is integrated to reduce hum issues related to ground loops.
How many headphones can be connected to the DAN-RX2?
Three headphone outputs are available: two 6.35 mm jacks and one mini-jack. The separate headphone amplifier level is adjusted directly on the device.
Can it be powered via PoE?
Power is supplied via PoE through the EtherCon or by an external DC 15 V power supply. It is possible to use both sources simultaneously for redundant power.
What network cable should be used with this audio interface?
The EtherCon connection is designed for Cat5e or Cat6 network cables. The enclosure measures 270 x 110 x 50 mm and weighs 1 kg.
