20 Years of Fireface: A Carefully Crafted Anniversary Edition
To celebrate the legendary Fireface 800, RME presents the Fireface 802 FS AE, a special edition that retains the proven architecture of the 802 FS and dresses it in a refined dark look, aesthetically echoing the ADI-2 converters. It comes with a new coordinated ARC USB remote control (optional), designed for direct control in the studio or control room.
Who Is It For and What Is It For?
The Fireface 802 FS AE is aimed at producers, sound engineers, and demanding creators who want a stable, expandable interface ready for hybrid setups. Multitrack recording, broadcasting, post-production, live captures, or modular synthesis: its 60 channels, RME reliability, and TotalMix routing ensure seamless integration, both in fixed studios and on the go.
Modern Workflow, Total Control
The TotalMix FX DSP engine offers independent headphone mixes, onboard effects (EQ, dynamics, reverb), and zero-latency matrix monitoring routing. Inputs can be remotely controlled via software, while the TotalMix/ARC USB remote speeds up daily operations: mute, dim, snapshots, and "Setup Recall" for standalone operation without a computer.
On the audio side, the SteadyClock FS ensures clean conversion and excellent jitter rejection. The DC-coupled outputs allow sending control voltages to your synths and modular systems, turning the interface into an audio/CV gateway. The Class Compliant mode facilitates broad driverless compatibility, useful for lightweight setups.
