A V5 Inspired by the 60s-70s "Jazz" References
Designed to capture the DNA of historic "Jazz" basses, the V5 Alder-5 LH Black relies on a simple and effective recipe: two single-coil pickups, passive electronics, and luthiery crafted for everyday playing. The choice of a roasted maple neck enhances stability, provides a "aged" wood feel, and promotes quick response, while the hardware and finish respect vintage codes with modern and consistent manufacturing.
Who Is This 5-String Left-Handed Bass For?
This bass is aimed at intermediate to advanced left-handed players, as well as demanding beginners who want a 5-string that is immediately comfortable. The 5th string in low B extends the range for modern groove, funk, soul, jazz, pop, and rock. With its C-profile and 16" / 406 mm radius, it remains fast and natural for fingerstyle, pick playing, and stable enough for slap techniques.
Sound
The two Marcus Super-J single-coil pickups deliver the typical attack and definition of a "Jazz" bass: articulated lows, singing mids, and clear highs, with a slight "growl" when pushing the right-hand attack. The passive VVT electronics allow switching from a round sound (neck pickup) to a more precise and biting tone (bridge pickup), or achieving subtle blends without the coloration of a preamp. The alder body provides balance and versatility, the maple fingerboard enhances brightness and snap, and the vintage-style bridge supports dynamics and sustain. The stainless steel frets maintain their consistency longer, even with intensive playing.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To get the best out of it, choose a set of 5-string long scale 34" / 864 mm bass strings (for example, gauge 45-130 depending on your touch), a standard bass/guitar strap, and a good quality 6.35 mm mono instrument cable to preserve the attack and output level of passive electronics.
