A Tribute to Legendary Spring Tanks

The Surf Rider IV condenses the spirit of sixties spring reverbs into a compact format. It draws inspiration from short Reverberocket-style tanks for subtle ambiances, captures the wide and metallic "twerp" splash of a silver-panel 4x10 combo, and adds a house "Fantasy" mode with exaggerated decay, designed for more pronounced drops and a boldly surf effect.

Who and In What Contexts?

Ideal for lovers of surf rock, rockabilly, garage, indie, or ambient, the Surf Rider IV shines both in the studio and on stage. Its "top-jacks" format facilitates integration on a modern pedalboard, while its range of controls covers subtle spatial touches as well as oceans of reverb reminiscent of western soundtracks.

Controls and Features That Make the Difference

Decay adjusts the trail length, Level the wet signal level, Dwell the tank liveliness (from warm to confidently "clangy"), and Body the mix density. A 3-position selector chooses the tank. The multifunction footswitch activates the pedal and, when held down, triggers a slight pitch modulation. Internal switches allow selection of "trails" and modulation type (momentary or latching), with internal speed and depth adjustments.

The Sound

Transparent when needed, colored when pushing the Dwell, the Surf Rider IV delivers precise drip, a snappy attack, and a tail rich in harmonics. The "Reverb-O-Rocket" mode provides natural depth, "Super Reverb" offers that wide and shimmering bounce typical of surf, and "Fantasy" pushes the spring beyond reality for wild seas that remain musical and responsive to playing.
