GB30: The Evolution of the LX7, Designed with Soundcraft DNA
The Soundcraft LX7 II is a direct evolution of the original LX7. It adopts a new preamplification and equalization design called GB30, named after Graham Blyth (co-founder and technical director of Soundcraft) and the brand's 30th anniversary. The result: a more modern analog console in its audio behavior, with a 6 dB improved signal-to-noise ratio compared to the LX7, and a more ambitious EQ section to work quickly, cleanly, and without compromise.
Intended Uses: Front of House, Monitors, and Fixed Installations
Flexible and functional, the LX7 II is designed to handle both front of house mixing and stage monitors. It is particularly aimed at fixed installations (venues, houses of worship, schools, control rooms) as well as small to medium live performances requiring many inputs, numerous auxiliaries, and a "traditional" console ergonomics.
Thanks to its 100 mm faders and a bus architecture designed for the stage, it facilitates soundchecks, level management, and subgroup organization. And with direct outputs on the first 8 channels, it naturally suits setups where multitrack recording is desired while maintaining real-time sound reinforcement.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Soundcraft LX7ii 32 suitable for front-of-house mixing and stage monitors?
This console features 6 pre/post-fader switchable auxiliary sends, suitable for managing monitors and effects. Its 4 subgroups, stereo output, and mono output allow for organizing the stage mix.
How many buses and auxiliaries does this console offer?
The architecture includes 7 buses: 4 subgroups, one stereo output, and one mono output. The 6 auxiliaries provide pre- or post-fader routing depending on the intended use.
Is it possible to record multitrack with this analog console?
The first 8 channels each have a direct output. It is therefore possible to send these channels to a multitrack recording system while performing the live mix.
What equalization is available on the channels?
Each channel features a 4-band GB30 equalizer and a low-cut filter. This section allows for correcting resonances and reducing unwanted low-frequency vibrations or noises.
Is the 48 V phantom power adjustable per channel?
The 48 V phantom power is switchable in blocks of 4 channels, allowing condenser microphones on the corresponding groups to be powered.
