A series inspired by the classics, designed for today's studios

The "Series 013" embraces an approach that blends the best of classic studio microphone designs with its own character. Within the range, there is a shared philosophy between the TUBE and FET versions: capturing sound with great accuracy while maintaining a sense of warmth, texture, and smoothness in the upper spectrum. This stereo pair particularly emphasizes natural reproduction, useful when seeking a recording that fills the frequency spectrum and dynamics pleasantly, without harshness.

Who is it for and what studio applications?

This pair of cardioid condenser microphones is aimed at sound engineers, discerning home studio users, and content creators who want a reliable stereo solution for detailed recordings. Thanks to their ability to handle transient-rich sources, they excel on instruments where attack is as important as body: cymbals and overheads, acoustic guitar, piano, percussion, strings, amps recorded at a distance, as well as room ambiance captures to add depth to a mix.

The matched stereo format offers a direct advantage for workflow speed: both microphones respond very similarly, which facilitates left/right balance and limits surprises during panning or summing. The result: a cleaner image, easier to place in a mix, and recordings that retain their "center" even after processing.

Key features: level control, transient precision, and stereo coherence

A matched pair for controlled stereo imaging

In stereo, coherence is the difference between a wide recording and a blurry one. Using 2 matched microphones helps preserve image precision, timbral stability, and depth sensation. Whether you work in XY for solid mono compatibility, ORTF for natural openness, or spaced pair to maximize width, this pair is designed to let you choose the technique without compromising musicality.

-10 dB pad: more headroom on powerful sources

The included -10 dB pad is a simple but decisive tool to gain headroom before saturation on high-level sources. On a snare drum, close overheads, percussion, or a very dynamic instrument, it prevents overloading the preamp input stage and maintains a clean capture with sharp transients. It also provides daily comfort: fewer "too hot" takes, fewer emergency fixes, and more peace of mind during tracking.

Gold-plated diaphragm and cardioid pattern: focus, separation, room control

With its 25 mm gold-plated diaphragm and cardioid polar pattern, this series is designed to offer a good balance between detail and control. The cardioid helps focus the source, limit bleed, and better manage room acoustics-an important asset in home studios and booths alike. The smooth highs and midrange precision contribute to flattering reproduction on complex sources without unnecessary harshness, often reducing the need for corrective EQ.
