Steinberg HALion 7 is a virtual instrument designed for music production, scoring to picture, and advanced sound design. It allows you to play realistic sampled instruments as well as create synthetic timbres. Punchy basses, cutting leads, evolving pads, or cinematic textures: its hybrid architecture lets you choose the right sonic material for every project.

In the studio, HALion 7 supports both arranging and the search for a distinctive sonic identity. You can start with a preset to quickly lay down an idea, then shape its dynamics, articulations, and MIDI expressiveness. For sound design, the different engines offer complementary approaches for transforming an initial sound into an atmosphere, a musical accent, or an experimental instrument.
