Between 80s Heritage and Position in the Strymon Lineup

Born as a nod to the digital reverbs and pitch shifters of the 1980s, the NightSky pushes the concept of "shimmer" and transposition far beyond the standards. Complementary to the brand's more classic reverbs, it occupies the experimental niche: a deeply sculptable reverb workstation designed to create evolving soundscapes and spectral transformation effects.

For Whom and Which Styles?

Guitarists, keyboardists, producers, and sound designers seeking immersive atmospheres will find an ideal playground here. Ambient, post-rock, shoegaze, electronica, soundtracks, IDM, or modern pop: the NightSky shines both in the studio and live, whether at the front of a pedalboard, in an amp effects loop, or on a send bus.

Controls and Creative Possibilities

At the heart of the pedal, the SIZE/PITCH parameter controls the reverb core size and pitch, quantifiable across different scales or controllable via an 8-step sequencer with glide. The VOICE section combines Shimmer (+/-1 octave, pre or within the regeneration), Glimmer (dynamic harmonic accent), and Drive (pre/post). The TONE section offers low cut and 24 dB/oct resonant high cut/low pass filters, perfect for "synth-like" sweeps. On the modulation side, triangle, square, ramp, saw, random, and envelope waveforms can target the reverb, pitch/size, or filter. The Morph function allows smooth transitions between settings at an assignable speed, and an expression input can morph multiple potentiometers simultaneously. An Instrument/Line switch ensures flawless integration with guitars, synths, and console inserts.

Sound Character

The NightSky ranges from a dense, present plate to a "diffuse" wash that blooms in space, or a "sparse" texture with distinct reflections ideal for sound design. The analog dry path preserves attack and dynamics, while the resonant filter and Drive sculpt the stereo field's color-from ethereal halos to granular, harmonically rich pads that respond subtly to playing dynamics.
