Essential Information About the Fat Shuga Boost and Reverb Pedal

  • Two essential effects in one compact format: overdrive/boost + reverb to thicken your sound and immediately place it in a space.

  • Soft and creamy "tube-type" overdrive: ideal for warming up a clean tone, pushing an already lively amp, or adding body to a rhythm part.

  • Simple and musical built-in reverb: choose between a Room or Hall ambiance for natural depth, without unnecessary settings.

  • Perfect as an always-on pedal: a slight drive + a balanced reverb are enough to make your playing more lively, both in the studio and on stage.

A Minimalist Approach: The "Drive + Ambience" Duo Ready to Play

The Fat Shuga was designed for guitarists who want the essentials at their feet: a warm boost/overdrive and a reverb capable of widening the sound without overwhelming the mix. Rather than stacking controls, it focuses on direct adjustments to quickly achieve a texture inspired by tube amps, with just enough space to add dimension to chords and melodic lines.

For Which Guitarists and Styles?

This pedal is suitable for both beginners and experienced musicians looking for a quick, compact, and effective solution for a lightweight pedalboard. Its smooth overdrive is particularly suited to blues, rock, pop, indie genres and clean/crunch tones where playing dynamics need to remain intact.

In a live context, it excels at boosting a solo while maintaining a coherent ambiance. In the studio, the Room reverb provides natural proximity, while the Hall mode stretches sustain and offers a wider sensation, useful for lead parts or arpeggios.

Controls, Modes, and Operation

The Fat Shuga goes straight to the point: an on/off footswitch, a cream control managing the overdrive mix (from subtle thickening to a more present drive), and a reverb level potentiometer to adjust the amount of reverb. A Room/Hall selector allows switching from a short, tight room to a more expansive reverb, ideal for adding air to phrases and chords.

The connectivity is designed for simple integration: input, output, and power jack. The pedal accepts a 9 V DC power supply (with an extended voltage range) and can also run on a 9 V battery, convenient for emergencies or small portable setups.

Sound

On the drive side, it offers a warm, natural, and creamy grain, with an "amp-like" feel that enriches the signal without hardening it. The attack remains clear, and the pedal responds well to pick dynamics and guitar volume, making it an excellent base for an always-on sound or to push a channel already in light crunch.

The reverb completes the picture with a musical ambiance: in Room mode, it adds depth without masking the playing; in Hall mode, it provides a wider and more enveloping sensation, perfect for adding relief to leads or arpeggios. The whole design aims to remain effective in a mix, with a "plug and play" approach focused on feel.
