RockBass 2024: Warwick DNA, Simplified Access to the Range
The RockBass line has been revamped for 2024 with a clear ambition: to offer basses inspired by Warwick's iconic models while remaining within a more affordable budget. It retains the aesthetic codes and musical attributes that have built the reputation of the German brand: an instrument designed for modern playing, luthiery focused on efficiency, and an immediately recognizable sonic personality.
For Which Bassist and Styles?
This 5-string electric bass is aimed both at the intermediate bassist seeking a reliable 5-string and the experienced musician who wants a solid working instrument (rehearsals, studio, stage). The B string allows for unrestricted access to modern tunings and low registers: rock, metal, funk, pop, gospel, or contemporary music in a broad sense, with a solid foundation and precise attack.
The Sound
The passive MEC vintage humbuckers deliver a dense, quiet signal rich in low-mids, ideal for "filling" a mix without becoming overpowering. Paired with the active RockBass electronics, they gain impact and definition, particularly useful on a 5-string to keep the low end clear. The Carolina pine body provides a balanced and lively response, while the 3-piece maple and ekanga neck promotes stability and a crisp attack. The tiger ebony fingerboard enhances precision and articulation, practical for fast passages, fingerstyle, and pick playing alike.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
This bass comes with a Student Line RockBag RB 20515 B/PLUS gig bag. To maintain the original feel, you can plan a replacement set in gauge .045-.135 (like the Warwick Red Strings factory-installed). A strap is also recommended: Warwick Security locks effectively secure the instrument on stage.
