The CSP-295GP captures the musical spirit of the CSP-295 and places it in a cabinet with a grand piano profile, designed to enhance visual impact and sound projection. In this "GP" version, Yamaha emphasizes the overall piano feel thanks to the GrandTouch pedals and their grand piano-inspired behavior, while maintaining the CSP philosophy: a modern approach where the Smart Pianist app, light guide, and accompaniment functions transform daily practice into a motivating experience.

Keyboard design

At the heart of the CSP-295GP, the GrandTouch 88-key keyboard aims to deliver a response close to that of a grand piano: linear graded hammers, counterweights for better control at low dynamics, and escapement for a more realistic release sensation. The wooden white keys provide natural inertia, while the synthetic ivory and ebony finishes improve grip. Sensitivity is adjustable (Soft2, Soft1, Medium, Hard1, Hard2, Fixed) to adapt the instrument to your touch, from pianissimo to fortissimo.

Sound quality

The sound engine is based on two iconic pianos: the Yamaha CFX and Bosendorfer Imperial, with binaural sampling for more immersive headphone listening (CFX Grand and Bosendorfer only). Articulation details are carefully crafted thanks to Key-off samples and Smooth Release. Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) reproduces complex resonances (strings, soundboard, sympathetic vibrations), and Grand Expression Modeling enhances timbral control sensation depending on attack. On the power side, the amplification (50 W + 50 W + 40 W) x 2 and multi-speaker system (with Grand Acoustic Imaging) provide wide, precise, and inspiring sound dispersion, even at moderate volume.

Educational functions

Designed for effective progress, the CSP-295GP relies on a "guided" use via Smart Pianist: Stream Lights light guide (4 levels) and lesson modes Correct Key, Any Key, Karao-Key, and Your Tempo (the piece waits for you to play the correct notes). Practice is complemented by a metronome, a large internal library of 403 songs (pop, classical, exercises), and the Audio to Score function to quickly identify chords and accompaniment patterns from your audio files, allowing you to practice the music you love.

Advanced functions

For stage, home studio, and creation, the CSP-295GP offers a comprehensive approach: 919 sounds (872 voices + 47 Drum/SFX kits) and compatibility with XG, GS, GM, GM2, rich automatic accompaniments (525 styles, controls INTRO x 1, ENDING x 1, MAIN x 4, FILL IN x 4), Registration Memory, and Piano Room mode. Connectivity includes MIDI IN/OUT/THRU, USB TO DEVICE, AUX outputs, and dual headphone jacks, as well as Bluetooth Audio/MIDI (country-dependent) for wireless audio and connection to Smart Pianist via Bluetooth MIDI. For recording, you have a 16-track MIDI multitrack recorder (SMF) and USB audio recording (WAV, AAC playback/recording), with Time Stretch, Pitch Shift, and melody suppression (Vocal Cancel) functions.
