Nord Stage 4: The Natural Evolution of the Stage Series for Demanding Keyboardists

Designed for the stage, the Nord Stage 4 takes the philosophy of the range even further: immediate access to sounds, exemplary panel readability, and quick editing without complex menus. The organization into three sections (Piano, Synth, Organ) allows building solid combinations both in rehearsal and concert, while maintaining tactile control over essential parameters. This "ready to play" approach is accompanied by a rich Preset library, ideal for preparing a set and then adjusting it precisely in real time.

Keyboard Design

The Nord Stage 4 is available in several versions depending on the desired touch: 88 fully weighted keys (Triple Sensor A-C) or 73 weighted keys (Triple Sensor E-E), as well as a Compact version with 73 semi-weighted keys (Triple Sensor E-E). The Triple Sensor technology improves note repetition, attack precision, and dynamic control, an asset for piano parts as well as organ playing and synth sounds. Aftertouch (depending on model) enhances expressiveness, especially for controlling vibrato, filters, or effects.

Sound Quality

The Piano section relies on the Nord Piano Library with a collection of grand pianos, upright pianos, and electric pianos designed for the stage, along with mix-oriented musical tools such as dynamic compression and the Unison function to thicken the tone. The Synth section, based on the Nord Wave 2 architecture, offers 3 independent layers and multiple synthesis methods (virtual analog, samples, FM, wavetable), with doubled sample memory and refinements like Tru-Vibrato and Round Robin for greater realism. The Organ section includes classics (B3, Vox, Farfisa) and adds pipe organ models, featuring a modeled vintage rotary speaker to capture the character and movement of authentic organ playing.
