A connected subwoofer for next-generation ADAM Audio studios
The Sub10 PRO is part of the new generation of professional ADAM Audio subwoofers designed for networked monitoring. It has been conceived as a natural complement to the monitors in the A Series, while providing the precision and dynamic headroom required by more ambitious studio setups.
Its approach goes far beyond simply reinforcing the low end. Thanks to its DSP processing, Ethernet connectivity and compatibility with Sonarworks acoustic correction, this subwoofer becomes a true control hub for optimizing low-frequency response in a stereo or immersive control room.
Reliable low end for mixing, mastering and immersive audio
The ADAM Audio Sub10 PRO is aimed at producers, sound engineers, post-production mixers and creators working in rooms where accurate reproduction of low frequencies is essential. It makes it easier to assess the kick, bass, sub-bass frequencies, room resonances and the overall balance of a mix.
In a 2.1 system, Stereo mode enables intuitive integration with a pair of monitors. For Dolby Atmos workflows and other immersive formats, LFE mode applies a suitable crossover frequency up to 120 Hz. Wide mode, meanwhile, lets the subwoofer reproduce its entire bandwidth, a particularly flexible solution when bass management is handled elsewhere in the monitoring chain.
DSP, network calibration and power: precise control of the low end
A 10-inch woofer designed to stay clean at high levels
At the heart of the Sub10 PRO, the 10-inch woofer combines a paper cone reinforced with fibers, a soft rubber surround and a 45 mm voice coil. This construction enables substantial excursion while limiting distortion, preserving clear transients and a solid low-end foundation.
The ferrite magnetic system, complemented by demodulation rings, stabilizes the voice-coil inductance. Carefully designed ventilation for the moving elements also helps reduce unwanted mechanical noise, including during extended listening sessions.
Optimized front-firing port and Class D amplification
The front-firing bass-reflex port has been optimized through FEA analysis to streamline airflow. This design reduces turbulence in the port and helps the Sub10 PRO deliver a high sound pressure level without sacrificing definition. Its robust MDF cabinet limits unwanted vibrations, while the steel grille effectively protects the loudspeaker, particularly in an under-desk installation.
The Class D PWM amplifier delivers up to 325 W peak power and 200 W RMS. It operates with an intelligent limiter and several independent protections against peaks, overheating, overcurrent and undervoltage. The result is a subwoofer capable of maintaining its control and reliability, even at high working volumes.
ADAM Control and Sonarworks: integration tailored to your room
Connected to the network via Ethernet, the Sub10 PRO can be controlled from the ADAM Control software. This makes it possible to adjust the level, Delay, phase and four bands of parametric equalization in real time, including from different listening positions. This centralized management simplifies the subwoofer's time alignment with the monitors and the adaptation of low-frequency response to the acoustic constraints of the control room.
The onboard DSP can also accommodate correction filters created with Sonarworks' SoundID Reference. This compatibility is a major asset for calibrating a stereo or multichannel ADAM Audio system with greater consistency. Firmware updates via ADAM Control also allow the subwoofer's features to evolve over time.
Professional routing, analog and digital
The Sub10 PRO features two balanced XLR/TRS combo inputs, two XLR outputs and an AES3 input/output pair. The digital connection can transmit two channels at 24-bit and up to 96 kHz, reducing the number of conversion stages in a compatible monitoring chain. A locking footswitch input allows the bass management to be bypassed instantly, making it easy to compare a mix quickly with and without the subwoofer.
