Essential Information About the Dreadbox Psyclop Pedal
Essential Information About the Dreadbox Psyclop Pedal
- Parallel Effects Loop: blend your direct "dry" signal with the loop return "wet" to preserve the attack and definition of your instrument.
- Ultra Convenient Level Adjustment: input attenuation up to 20 dB and output boost up to 20 dB to integrate seamlessly after a guitar or with machines, synths, or pedals at higher levels.
- Built-in Phase Management: a phase selector helps avoid surprises when dry and wet signals are not perfectly aligned.
- Expression to CV: converts a TRS expression pedal into CV voltage to control compatible equipment, including in a modular environment.

A "Utility" Pedal Designed to Connect Pedals and Synths
The Psyclop does not aim to be just another distortion, delay, or modulation: it is a routing and control pedal that simplifies setups often reserved for studios. The idea is clear: to offer a compact parallel effects loop with the right tools to manage levels and interactions, making it easy to integrate pedals that can sometimes be finicky (or very colored) into a more modern chain. Add to that the Expression to CV conversion, and you get a true bridge between pedalboard and CV universe.
Who Benefits from the Psyclop and in What Uses Does It Make a Difference?
The Dreadbox Psyclop is aimed at musicians who like to optimize their pedalboard and maintain control over their sound: guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, as well as producers and tinkerers who switch between pedals, electronic instruments, and hybrid setups. In live settings, it helps maintain a solid direct signal while balancing a very pronounced effect (fuzz, pitch, filters, heavily modulated delays). In the studio, it becomes a powerful blend tool to parallel-process without losing the original dynamics.
It suits both curious beginners (who want to understand and master dry/wet) and advanced users seeking a reliable solution to manage levels, phase, and control in a pedal format.

Questions frequently asked
How to connect a parallel effects loop with this pedal?
The audio section uses asymmetrical 6.35 mm TS mono jacks for input, loop, and output. The dry/wet mix allows retaining the direct signal while controlling the level of the effect returned in the loop.
Is the input and output level adjustable?
An input attenuator can reduce the level by up to 20 dB. An output booster can add up to 20 dB after the effects chain. These settings help to adjust gain when some effects saturate the input or reduce the output level.
Can the Dreadbox Psyclop convert an expression pedal into CV?
The expression input is TRS format and the CV connection uses 3.5 mm mono TS mini-jacks. Without a cable connected to the CV IN input, the CV OUT delivers a voltage from 0 to 5 V according to the position of the expression pedal and the EXP setting. The CV input accepts up to ±12 V.
How to fix a phase issue in the effects loop?
A phase selector located on the side allows adjusting the polarity of the processed signal when the wet return causes bass loss or a less coherent stereo image.
What power supply is required for this pedal?
The power supply requires 9 V DC with a 2.1 mm BOSS-type connector and center negative polarity, consuming 25 mA. The enclosure measures 140 Ă 90 Ă 56 mm.
