The Bassman spirit: Fender DNA serving low frequencies
The Bassman series draws inspiration from the philosophy of historic Fender Bassman amps: a full sound, lively response, and a very "organic" way of saturating when pushing the power stage. The Bassman Driver translates this idea into a pedal format, with a design oriented towards bassists and a clear goal: to bring character and bite while respecting the sub foundation and punch that define the bass's role in a mix.
For which bassists and styles?
The Fender Bassman Driver is aimed both at bassists seeking a light tube-amp style saturation (to thicken a tone, bring out the pick attack, or add texture to ghost notes) and those looking for a heavier distortion for modern rock, punk, stoner, metal, or more aggressive trio passages.
In the studio, it helps place the bass "up front" without unnecessarily bloating the low end. Live, the Blend and mids switch allow quick adjustment of presence to cut through the mix, even with two guitars. Thanks to the speaker emulation, it can also be useful in setups alternating between bass cabinets and PA systems.

The JFET circuitry and dynamic clipping stages deliver a response that thickens with attack. At low gain, it adds harmonics and grit. The Voice switch adds an extra clipping layer for a more saturated distortion.

A side pad is included to accommodate the input level of active basses. The input uses a 6.35 mm jack, and the jacks are top-mounted on the enclosure.
