The Manley Signature, Handcrafted in California
The Manley "FORCE" concentrates the brand's sonic DNA into a modern preamp, handcrafted in Southern California. Manley focuses on the essentials: sound, reliability, and carefully selected components, all housed in an elegant chassis with a machined finish.
Who and What Is It For?
Ideal for studios, sound engineers, creators, and musicians demanding musical and solid sound capture. Vocals, guitars, keyboards, or line-level sources: each channel offers the essential functions to sculpt the signal right at the input and adapt the device to any microphone or instrument.
Features and Ergonomics Designed for the Modern Studio
Optimized Signal Path
The mic enters through gold-plated XLRs and then feeds the Manley IRON input transformer. Before the tube stage, you can invert phase and engage a 120 Hz high-pass filter to clean up the lows. The heart of the preamp relies on two 12AX7 triodes in pure Class A, followed by a high-headroom output stage that ensures a pristine level to your interface or console.
Precise Gain and Source Management
The front panel gain selector offers 40 dB or 50 dB depending on the source, with an additional internal 10 dB boost if needed. The input level control acts as a variable input pad, perfect for taming hot signals without degrading the tone.
Instrument Inputs and Visual Feedback
The front 1/4" jacks have very high impedance (10 megohms) to preserve the attack and brightness of guitars and keyboards. A LED meter per channel provides immediate feedback, while the detented potentiometers and robust switches ensure reliable and repeatable settings.

Questions frequently asked
How many channels does the Manley Force offer?
The Manley Force features four tube microphone preamplifier channels in a 2U rack-mount chassis.
Does the preamp accept direct guitars?
There are 1/4" jack inputs on the front panel with an input impedance of 10 megaohms. This value is designed to preserve the attack and brightness of guitars or keyboards.
What gain is available on each channel?
The front panel switch offers 40 dB or 50 dB of gain. An internal 10 dB boost can be engaged if necessary. The input level control acts as a variable pad to handle high-level sources.
Is there a high-pass filter and phase inversion?
Before the tube stage, each channel allows phase inversion and activation of a 120 Hz high-pass filter.
What is the tube configuration of the Force?
The preamp path is based on two 12AX7 triodes running in pure Class A, after the Manley IRON input transformer. The mic inputs use gold-plated XLR connectors. An LED meter per channel facilitates visual level monitoring.
