Historical context and positioning in the range

The Marshall 1987X is the "Vintage Reissue" reinterpretation of the legendary Plexi 50 watts circuit, designed to offer the aesthetics and behavior of a British classic while remaining reliable and coherent for modern use. Visually close to its more powerful big brother, it stands out by having a response that is easier to "push" and saturation that comes faster at comparable volume, making it a reference for vintage rock sounds and organic crunch.

Who this amp is for

This head is tailored for guitarists who want a true tube amp sound without artifice: from demanding intermediate musicians to professionals. In the studio, it shines with its definition and dynamics (perfect for miking). In rehearsals and on stage, its 50W are more than enough to hold up against a drummer, especially with a 2x12 or 4x12 cabinet. It excels in blues, classic rock, hard rock, punk rock, and any style where a lively crunch sensitive to touch is sought.
