From "mic'd" sound capture to a reliable and reproducible amp DI

Placing a microphone in front of a cabinet is a classic technique... but a tricky one: a few millimeters difference can change the bass/treble balance, and bleed from other instruments often complicates live mixing. The Radial JDX Reactor addresses this issue precisely by offering a direct capture of your amp's sound, without a microphone, while preserving the behavior and feel of an amp connected to a real speaker.

The key idea behind the JDX is not just to "take the amp head output": it is designed to account for the electrical and dynamic relationship between the amp and the speaker. The result: an amp DI that naturally fits into a mix, with a more credible sound than a simple line output, and outstanding consistency both on tour and in the studio.

Who is it for, for which styles, and in what contexts?

The JDX Reactor is aimed at guitarists (and bassists depending on configuration) who want a ready-to-use sound at FOH, recording, or monitors, without spending time searching for "the" mic placement. It suits both demanding studio musicians and stage guitarists who want a consistent signal for the sound engineer and faster setup on stage.

Rock, metal, punk, pop, modern blues: whenever a driven amp is part of your identity, the JDX provides a stable signal to the console. It's also very practical with in-ear monitors, as you get the same guitar tone from gig to gig, without surprises caused by the room or a mispositioned mic.
