The Viscount Legend Live JdF Signature Edition follows in the footsteps of portable organs designed for stage musicians who want to recapture the soul of historic electromechanical instruments without sacrificing practicality. This version pays tribute to Joey DeFrancesco with a dedicated aesthetic and sound settings inspired by three organs from his personal collection, used both in the studio and on stage.

Within the Legend range, this model is clearly aimed at demanding organists looking for an immediate response, full hands-on control and a truly distinctive sound. It is equally suited to jazz, gospel, rock and funk keyboardists, as well as touring musicians in need of a serious, portable instrument that is immediately ready for the stage.

Keyboard Design

The Legend Live features two 61-note waterfall keyboards, with an organ-style touch that is fluid and fast, very different from the light action of a synthesizer or a weighted piano keyboard. This design encourages glissandi, palm smears, rapid repetitions and traditional organ phrasing. The robust construction reinforces the sense of reliability on stage, while the overall ergonomics keep all the essential controls for playing the upper and lower sections within easy reach.

Sound Quality

Tonewheel modelling technology lies at the heart of the instrument and is designed to faithfully reproduce the lively behaviour of classic tonewheel organs. The sound gains depth through the management of key click, harmonic percussion, crosstalk, drive and the various tonewheel models. The JdF Edition adds three organ clones calibrated around Joey DeFrancesco's sonic world, with their associated effects. The whole system is completed by a particularly sophisticated rotary cabinet and amplifier simulation, essential for achieving a convincing, full and musical tone.
