A delay designed to get straight to the point, at the heart of the Fundamental series

Delay is one of the essential effects in guitar history: from short slapback repeats to long rhythmic washes, it adds depth, space, and a sense of "width" to your playing. With the Fundamental Delay, the idea is clear: offer an accessible and quick-to-use pedal while covering sounds that have defined modern pedalboards. The three modes (Digital, Analog, Reverse) allow you to switch from a clear and defined echo to rounder repeats, up to reversed atmospheres typical of more experimental approaches.

In the spirit of the Fundamental series, everything is focused on efficiency: few controls, but the right ones, a readable ergonomics, and musicality that encourages finding the "sweet spot" in seconds.

For which guitarists and styles?

This pedal is aimed both at beginner guitarists who want a simple and inspiring first delay and at experienced musicians looking for a compact delay to complement a hassle-free pedalboard. Thanks to its three modes, it easily adapts to various genres: blues and rock to thicken leads, pop and indie for eighth-note or dotted rhythms, post-rock and ambient to build subtle depth, or more alternative contexts where Reverse becomes a true creative tool.

In the studio, it helps place the guitar in the mix without overloading the arrangement; live, its readability and straightforward operation are a real plus when adjusting Time or Mix between songs. Whether you play with a pick or fingers, you will also appreciate the "plug and play" approach: set it, play, and the effect remains musical.

Features and handling: the essentials, well thought out

The Fundamental Delay goes straight to the essentials with three main controls. Time adjusts the repeat speed from short echoes to longer delays. Feedback controls the number of repeats: from a few subtle bounces to more prominent trails. Mix balances the effect level relative to the dry signal, to stay supportive or bring the delay to the forefront.

A mode selector switches between Digital, Analog, and Reverse. The On/Off footswitch ensures simple activation, perfect for stage use. Connectivity is via 6.35mm mono jack, and a practical detail: the top-mounted connections facilitate integration on a tight pedalboard while keeping wiring neat.

Regarding power, the pedal runs on 9 V DC via a suitable power supply unit (optional, not included). It does not support battery operation, a consistent choice for regular use in rehearsal, on stage, or with centralized power.

Sound Character

The Fundamental Delay's sonic personality strongly depends on the selected mode, making it very versatile. In Digital, repeats are clearer, with definition that helps maintain articulation in fast parts and arpeggios, particularly useful for synchronized rhythms and modern leads. In Analog, the delay becomes softer and warmer: repeats settle naturally behind your playing like an echo that "melts" into the sound, ideal for thickening a solo without harshening the highs.

The Reverse mode opens the door to more cinematic textures: reversed attacks, floating transitions, intriguing atmospheres, and patterns that seem pulled forward. It's an excellent mode for creating intros, atmospheres, or sound layers complementing reverb. Thanks to the simplicity of the Time, Feedback, and Mix controls, you quickly find usable sounds, from subtle to very present effects, while maintaining a musical response that's easy to control while playing.
