Keyboard Design

The Yamaha CLP-825 features a GrandTouch-S 88-key keyboard, designed to bring the digital experience closer to that of an acoustic piano. The touch is weighted, hammer-action type, to provide a stable response across the entire range. The escapement delivers a finer sensation on soft attacks, particularly appreciated in pianissimo and note repetitions. The keys have a synthetic ivory and synthetic ebony coating that improves grip, reduces slipping, and enhances control during extended playing. To suit your playing style, the sensitivity offers several curves (hard, medium, soft) as well as a fixed mode.

Sound Quality

The CLP-825's sound generation highlights two iconic pianos: the Yamaha CFX for a bright presence and modern projection, and the Bosendorfer Imperial for a rounder, warmer signature. Listening aims to preserve depth and breathing in chords: the VRM (Virtual Resonance Modeling) and piano expression modeling contribute to a more lively response, especially on releases, resonances, and harmonic sustain. On headphones, binaural sampling (on "CFX Grand") enhances spatialization, while stereophonic optimization improves listening comfort. With 256-note polyphony, 10 preset sounds, and 20 W x 2 amplification powering two 12 cm speakers with diffusers, the CLP-825 targets a balanced, precise sound suitable for home use.
