About the brand Gretsch guitars
Gretsch is one of the oldest manufacturers of musical instruments. In 1883, Friedrich Gretsch, originally from Germany, settled in New York.
Only 27 years old, he created his company and began his activity by manufacturing banjos and drum kits. During the first half of the 20th century, Gretsch ventured into guitar manufacturing. In the 1950s, it established itself as a key brand thanks to its electric guitars and the emergence of Rock'n'roll. The characteristic design and sound of Gretsch guitars perfectly combine with this new musical movement that would change the world.
In 2002, Gretsch signed an agreement with Fender Musical Instruments allowing Fender to produce, market, and distribute Gretsch guitars worldwide. Fred Gretsch remains the owner of the brand and stays involved in important decisions concerning it.
Many consider this partnership a new golden age for Gretsch guitars, which today present a quality never before achieved.
