A stage Hammond in the legacy of the B-3, optimized for live and modern setups
The Hammond XK-1C carries the DNA of the great Hammond consoles while adapting it to today's realities: transportability, quick setup, sound recall, and studio integration. The "B-3 + Leslie" spirit is at the heart of the experience, with dedicated controls, harmonic drawbars, and a next-generation Leslie simulation. Within the range, it positions itself as an ultra-efficient stage organ, designed for musicians who want uncompromising Hammond character, with direct handling and full settings memorization.
Keyboard Design
The 61-note "waterfall" keyboard (C1 to C6) is tailored for organ techniques: smooth glissandi, palm smears, clear attacks, and fast playing. The ergonomics prioritize performance, with immediate access to essential controls for continuous sound shaping (drawbars, percussion, Chorus/Vibrato, Leslie). The result: a consistent organ touch and a sense of control that encourages expressive playing, from jazz to rock, including funk and gospel.
Sound Quality
The dedicated organ sound generator relies on 2 VASE III used as digital tonewheels, plus transistor organ and pipe organ registers to broaden the palette. Polyphony is specified by sections to maintain stable execution in chords, trills, and fast passages: 61 (manual, except pipe organ), 8 (pedalboard, except pipe organ), and 63 (maximum, for pipe organ). Realism is refined through editing (variable key click, voicings) and especially through the internal Leslie simulation, essential for achieving a lively, rich, and mobile sound both in rehearsal and concert.
