The HK Audio LINEAR 5 MKII series is a complete redesign of the famous LINEAR 5, designed to meet the demands of professional bands and service providers. Made in Germany, this generation emphasizes flexibility, system consistency, and daily cost-effectiveness, with a major upgrade: the integration of a remotely controllable DSP and the possibility of networking the speakers.

A Speaker Designed for Live Sound Reinforcement, Monitors, and Modular Configurations

The L5MKII-112FA targets musicians, technicians, and sound engineers who want an active speaker that is both effective as a front PA and credible as a stage monitor. Its wedge design facilitates positioning as a floor monitor, while the 35 mm pole mount allows quick setup for PA use in concerts, DJ sets, conferences, or event performances. With a dispersion of 80deg x 60deg, it aims for clean and controlled coverage, useful when you need to sound reinforce without unnecessary spill onto walls or microphones.

Network DSP, Advanced Controls, and Stage Ergonomics

Built-in DSP: Precise Adjustments and System Consistency

One of the highlights of this MKII version is the integrated DSP, designed to facilitate system optimization according to the configuration. You have comprehensive processing tools: 10-band equalization, delay, limiter, polarity inversion, input gain adjustments, and filtering controls (high-pass and low-pass) to adapt the speaker for standalone use or with a subwoofer.

Remote Control and Network Integration

The RJ45 connection opens the door to remote management via dedicated software: practical for supervising a speaker fleet, homogenizing settings, and saving time during setup. The series is designed to be network-managed, and HK Audio has also anticipated the integration of speakers without their own DSP within the same system logic.

Field-Oriented Design: Transport, Installation, and Durability

With its 2 handles, weight of 17.60 kg, and compact dimensions, the L5MKII-112FA aims for easier handling than the previous generation. The enclosure made of multiplex birch - MDF enhances durability under intensive use. Another important detail for live use: the rotatable horn (90deg rotation possible) allows adjusting the dispersion orientation whether the speaker is used vertically or horizontally.
