A Controller Designed for the "Rack + Pedalboard" Logic

The Helix Control was designed as the natural companion to the Helix Rack: it greatly enhances its ergonomics and makes it immediately "pedalboard friendly." While a rack excels in integration (flight case, control room, studio, backline), Helix Control puts direct access to sound changes under your foot, with clear visual coherence thanks to colored LEDs and customizable labels.

This approach allows you to build a very clean system: the rack processor, the floor controller, and a smooth playing experience without compromising the speed of navigation between presets, sections, or assigned functions.

Who Is It For, and In What Usage Contexts?

The Helix Control is aimed at guitarists (and bassists) who already use a Helix Rack and want immediate control on stage, in rehearsal, or in the studio. It is especially relevant if you play in contexts where changes must be precise and fast: cover bands, modern rock, pop, metal, worship, sessions, or any setup requiring clean transitions.

In live settings, customizable labels reduce mistakes: you know exactly what you're activating, even in low light. In the studio, the expression pedals add a "performance" dimension (foot automation) that is very musical: dialing in modulation, opening a filter, managing a gain level, or evolving an effect mix in real time.

Key Features and Foot Control

The heart of the Helix Control is its 12 touch switches : they offer quick and intuitive interaction, enhanced by colored LED rings that facilitate reading your setup. The customizable labels allow you to organize your set as you wish: sound names, effect names, song markers, or dedicated functions (solo, boost, ambient, etc.).

At the rear, the three expression pedal inputs are a major asset for advanced rigs. For example, you can assign one pedal to volume, another to wah, and a third to a more creative parameter (blend of delay/reverb, pitch, modulation speed, or drive variation). The hands-free adjustment mode lets you tweak parameters without letting go of your instrument, handy for fine-tuning a patch during soundcheck or rehearsal.

Sound Quality

The Helix Control does not alter the signal: it generates no distortion, modulation, or coloration. Its "signature" lies elsewhere: in the mastery of your sound. By making changes more reliable and readable, it helps you exploit more nuanced presets and more musical transitions, stress-free.

With expression pedals, you mainly add playing dynamics : the same preset can become lively, evolving, and expressive. It's the ideal tool to switch from a rhythmic sound to a lead, from a wide ambiance to a tighter verse, or from a bright clean to a progressive crunch, all while staying focused on your performance.
