The NXL 14-A: the most compact in the NXL Series for pro setups
Designed as the most compact active speaker in the professional NXL Series, the NXL 14-A has a clear goal: to offer a true "large stage" sound in a format that is easy to transport and integrate. Its architecture combines high-end components (neodymium magnets, compression driver with PKX dome) and internal processing dedicated to phase coherence and bass control, to deliver precise and usable sound in demanding contexts. Available in black or white finish, it adapts equally well to stage environments, corporate events, houses of worship, or discreet installations.
Applications: vocals, compact systems with subs, immersive setups, and fill speakers
The NXL 14-A is particularly perfect for vocal reproduction : articulation, definition, and intelligibility are all present, even at high levels. It naturally fits into a compact live system when paired with subwoofers from the SUB Series, extending low-end support while maintaining a precise high-frequency range.
Thanks to its size and directivity, it also works very well as a fill speaker : front fill, side fill, zone reinforcement, or coverage of a specific area without overloading the setup. Finally, its dispersion capabilities make it an effective candidate for immersive configurations, when homogeneous, compact, and easy-to-orient speakers are needed.
Drivers, directivity, and processing: power, control, and coherence
Symmetrical configuration for clean bass and better coherence
The NXL 14-A features two 6-inch woofers in a symmetrical configuration. This design aims for a more homogeneous response and better stability of the sound image, particularly useful when the speaker is used in close proximity (monitors, fills) or in compact systems where consistent coverage over a listening area is expected.
Precision Transducers driver and PKX dome: precision and high-level performance
For high frequencies, the speaker is equipped with a 1.75-inch compression driver with a neodymium magnet and a PKX dome. The goal is to maintain fine definition and stable dynamics even when levels rise and vocals must remain intelligible over a dense mix. Combined with a stated frequency response of 70 to 20000 Hz, this high-frequency section contributes to detailed and balanced live reproduction.
Orientable TRW waveguide: adapting dispersion to the stage
The orientable TRW waveguide allows adjustment of coverage depending on the configuration: pole height, front-of-house position, use as fill, or integration into an immersive system. With a specified directivity of 100 deg x 70 deg, the dispersion is designed to effectively cover a listening area while limiting unwanted reflections on surfaces, a real advantage in reverberant rooms and cluttered stages.
Class D 2100 W bi-amplification and dedicated processing
The NXL 14-A is powered by a two-channel Class D amplifier totaling 2100 W, optimized to combine power reserve, efficiency, and easy transport. It also integrates FiRPHASE and Bass Motion Control processing, designed to improve temporal coherence and better control bass behavior, to maintain a cleaner, clearer, and more consistent sound in real conditions.
Ultimately, the combination of these elements results in a speaker capable of delivering a high level (128 dB SPL max. ) while remaining portable and easy to integrate into various professional configurations.

Questions frequently asked
Is the RCF NXL 14-A suitable for live vocals?
Vocal reproduction benefits from a 1.75-inch neodymium compression driver with PKX dome. The specified frequency response from 70 to 20,000 Hz enhances clarity and definition in a dense mix.
What power and sound level does this speaker offer?
The dual-channel Class D amplification totals 2,100 W, with a maximum declared SPL of 128 dB.
Can it be used with a subwoofer?
Pairing with a SUB series subwoofer extends the low-frequency response. The two 6-inch drivers handle the speaker's bass frequencies, with a linear response starting at 70 Hz. Bass Motion Control and FiRPHASE processing contribute to bass control and temporal coherence.
What is the dispersion coverage of the NXL 14-A?
The adjustable TRW waveguide offers a coverage pattern of 100° x 70°. Its orientation allows adapting the dispersion for main front, front fill, or zone reinforcement use.
What are the weight and dimensions of this active speaker?
Weighing 12.8 kg with dimensions of 567 x 197 x 270 mm, this model suits setups where space is limited. It is available in black or white finish.
